Amy Lloyd, VMD

Dr. Lloyd was born and raised in Plymouth Meeting, PA, but has lived in Bucks County for most of her adult life. She was motivated to become a veterinarian by a love for animals, science, nature, and puzzles combined with a desire to feel useful and help others.

After graduating from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Lloyd worked at 2 veterinary hospitals in Montgomery County for a total of 8 years before starting her own full-service solo mobile practice in 2006. In 2020, she closed her practice and started working at multiple hospitals throughout the region (including Pet's Best Friend) through a company called IndeVets. In 2021, she was promoted to Area Medical Director for the state of Pennsylvania and continued to practice veterinary medicine while performing the role of clinical leader, mentor, and supervisor for up to 25 veterinarians across the state.

After working regularly at Pet's Best Friend for 3 1/2 years, she became full-time in October 2023, and is very happy to be part of our amazing team! She has a great love for geriatric patients and complicated internal medicine cases, and she is committed to working with pet parents to find the best treatment plan for their furry family member's individual situation.

When not at work, Dr. Lloyd enjoys spending time with her husband, 4 cats, family and friends. Her favorite activities are reading, going to concerts, playing flute and piccolo, hiking, and epic backpacking adventures.
